I have used the MS Date and time picker control 6.0 (SP6) in one of my forms. In the property of this control, under OLE class is shows 'MSCOMCTL2.DtPicker.

Strangely, when I search for the MSCOMCTL2.OCX on my computer, I cannot find that OCX file.
Any ideas on how the form can use this control when it does not exist under that name?
I am running into problems since the app works on some client machines and does not work on some.
I need to know the EXACT Ocx file that needs to be registered to make the app work.Thanks in advance.
Ian Fife February 23, 2009 at 9:02 am I have developed a worksheet for my department and it includes the use of Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 as part of a UserForm. When I distributed the worksheet, a few employees have had the debugger come up when the UserForm appears because their version of excel does not have the Microsoft Date and Time Picker as an option under 'Additional Controls' on the toolbox pulldown. I tried installing the Picker using your instructions above but all that happened was it ran a command box for a split second and then nothing happened. Any suggestions? Some Microsoft Excel 2003 users have the control, others do not.
Can the problem be resolved through a service pack download or some sort of Microsoft update? Or perhaps you may know what I am doing wrong when I tried running the above download. Any ideas would be appreciated! Andrew June 11, 2011 at 4:55 am You're probably using a different version of Windows and/or Excel than the people on this forum.
What worked for me, step-by-step for people as lost as I was (1) I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) and Excel 2010 (32-bit) rumor has it Excel 2010 (64-bit) simply doesn't have a solution. (2) Download the.CAB file, unzip it and place the file 'MSCOMCT2.OCX' in the folder 'C:WindowssysWOW64' if you're running Windows 7 (64-bit) or place it in the folder 'C:WindowsSystem32' if you're running Windows (32-bit). You'll get a prompt that you need to be an Administrator, accept all of that.

Ian December 17, 2010 at 9:35 am Since my initial comment above well over a year ago I have had success registering the MSCOMCT2.OCX and installing the DT Picker Control on all our systems. However, as systems in our department are switching over to Windows 7 I am having a similar problem to 'Guest' where the control will not register. I am guessing it has to do with the enhanced safety features on Windows 7 and restrictions on being able to download content, even if logged in as the administrator. Anyone have a solution for this? Helen Feddema June 6, 2011 at 7:00 am I copied the MSCOMCT2.OCX file to the System32 folder (after getting an Access Denied message from the.bat file). However, I still get the 'Could not load some objects because they are not available on this machine' error message when trying to install an Outlook UserForm that had a DateTimePicker control on it (this userform was created on another computer, which had — long ago — had the Developer Edition of Office 2000 on it, the original source of this control).

Download the MSCOMCT2.cab to desktop (reffer the first link “download it here”) 2. Install 7zip.
Extract the MSCOMCT2.cab file on the desktop. You get two files “mscomct2.bat” and MSCOMCT2.OCX.
Copy MSCOMCT2.OCX to c: windows system32 (if the file is already there rename the old file to MSCOMCTold.OCX) and then try again. Run the mscomct2.bat (Please use run ad administrator even if you have admin rights) Now see the magic works fine. I was trying this solution for a month and finally i got it from this site. Paul February 4, 2014 at 12:43 pm I combined John Remmes’ information with this and for me running Office 2007 on a Windows 64bit machine, this was my solution to add the Picker Control: Download and unzip the.bat and.ocx files.
Place them into the C: Windows System32 folder Click on the Developer button. Click on Insert. Click on the More Controls icon. Click on Register Custom. This will default to the System32 folder.
Double click on the MSCOMCT2.OCX file. The Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control will now appear in the list.
MSP Computer Maintenance June 25, 2017 at 7:15 am Daniel, I had already installed the Microsoft Date and Time picker and every time I would close out of the excel document and re-open it the picker would disappear and just a blank spot was there. I would then have to go into design mode, delete it, recreate it and then link the cell again. I had to explain this procedure and set it up for the vendors as well. It was driving me nuts. I started looked into this and discovered your installation procedure. I ran the files and fantastic, I no longer have a blank cell but I have an oversized calendar showing up.

Now, the calendar still doesn’t work but I discovered that if I zoom out and back in by holding the CTRL key down and scrolling up and down on the middle mouse button that the calendar works So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
